This company was founded in 1944. The then name of the company was Thomas Stewart & Co. At that time it operated as a warehouse/factory in Granville and a retail shop in Parramatta (both suburbs of Sydney). For many years the emphasis was on sponge rubber strip of different profiles and weather strips also of many profiles. Rubber slitting was an important part of the business as was foam cutting.
In 1987 the Joplin Hydraulic Jack business was acquired. As imported products curtailed manufacturing, local production of jacks ceased and Joplin was moved to Granville in 1997. The Joplin name was retained and today is used for products other than rubber and rubber related products.
Members of the Graham family owned and managed the company. The name Thomas Stewart often created confusion with potential and existing clients so on the 21st February 1994 the name was changed to Graham Rubber Pty Ltd. To this day the company is owned and managed by the Graham family.
We are an independent company with no financial affiliation or franchise association to other organisations either locally of foreign. Products are both imported and sourced locally. From the time we commenced importing we have had a policy of visiting the factories manufacturing these products. This has ensured that quality is maintained to our requirements.
Today there are few if any companies with our experience.
